Being a multi-generational Swiss trained Master Watchmaker of Complications Specialist, and having the experience of being the Head Watchmaker in charge of complication rooms for some of the most prestigious Swiss luxury watch brands is just the personal attention your prized watch of fine watchmaking heritage needs for it’s care and maintenance.
Starting at the young age of 8 years old, our founder (Dan Spitz) was at the Watchmaker’s bench beside his Pop-pop taking apart luxury watches with names like Patek Philippe and Rolex. Eddie Spitz (Dan’s Pop-pop) owned the largest watch and jewelry store in the Catskill Mountains of New York State during its flourishing years.
Earning the prestigious Swiss WOSTEP diploma (while being trained directly by the curriculum founding member in Neuchatel, Switzerland), as well as attending three years of watchmaking schooling in the USA, servicing thousands of vintage mechanical chronographs that go back a few centuries for private collectors and years of trade work gives you peace of mind that your valued watch will be taken care of by one of the top Master Watchmakers there is worldwide.
Mr.Spitz’ obligations to large Swiss luxury watch companies are still current. Their complications are taken care of in the same private facility as your fine timepiece.The extremely rare qualities of Swiss training, expertise, patience and over 35 years experience in complicated luxury watches make him a very “in demand” Master Watchmaker within the small Swiss circles of complicated watchmaking. The shortage worldwide of Watchmakers with his pedigree and experience brings him to Switzerland to work as well. Even in Switzerland the shortage at this level of watchmaking is so relevant.
In addition to using his past knowledge of helping large companies trouble shoot new mechanical model problems upon initial release to the public, Mr.Spitz also trains other Watchmakers on the brands he services, and is the sole Parts Distribution Center for certain luxury brands. “You must give back some of the knowledge you can only gain by years and years of experience at the bench. It’s a passion and not a job at this level.” says Mr.Spitz.
