Out and About with Good Charlotte:

So on our quest to learn more from other identical twins regarding how to deal with all these freaky things they do that we simply can't understand we found ourselves at sound check with Joel and Benji Madden from the kickin' band Good Charlotte. Candi and I had Brendan and Jaden along, with their silencing headphones on, and they were just banging their heads out front during sound check just like I do while onstage (must be in the gene pool).

After sound check, Joel and boys came out to say hello and hang. These guys are some of the nicest people we've met. Candi let Brendan and Jaden run around the arena (their running now when their not killing each other and stealing each other's toys) and Joel was filling Candi in on the wacky identical twin things that are to come (Joel and Benji are identicals). We need help!!!! Here's a picture of Joel whispering secret identical twin corrupting advice on how to torture your parents into Brendan and Jaden's ears. Haaa haa ...There are plenty of twins out there due to the fertility drug explosion, but having identicals/mirror image can only be by the blessing of God.

One thing we'll remember from Joel well into the future is his advice to "Never Ever Separate Them". He suggested that when in school or any other setting where the authorities at be suggest separation is best to instantly choose the opposite. Thanks Joel (with the Jesus tattoo's...hmmmmm I wonder.....is he?).

After such a nice warm welcome from the band we decided we would return to see the show later (we live near the arena). My youngest daughter, Lianna, and her roving pack of friends were going to the show as well as they are big fans of Good Charlotte. She was so excited to meet them.

The guys even made a space for our giant stroller on stage... and took care of Lianna with a pass, meet and greet with signed pictures (she was so excited). It seems Paris Hilton said hello to her as well so she was stoked! I guess Daddy came in handy this night out?

Candi also got a little more information from Joel on the Richie-Madden Foundation which is adding a Baby Registry section for under privileged families in the near future.  Such a brilliant idea to directly help those in need!!!  As Candi is currently endorsed by many baby product companies (Baby Sherpa, Tommi Guard, and many more...) we will be contacting them to hopefully lend their support as well.  Check out: http://richiemaddenfoundation.com

All in all they don't come any nicer than the guys from Good Charlotte.  We would also like to give a BIG thank you to their Manager, Mark!!!

I have one more picture from our night out as a family. It's a silhouette of me on side stage going nutzo' for Good Charlotte and dreaming of hitting the stage next summer myself.

ps:
Brendan and Jaden were headbangin' during the live show again in their stroller!!! Haaaaa haaa..... we're in trouble soon...

Brendan and Jaden:
From Anthrax to the Blue Lagoon:

Well I said in my last blast that Brendan and Jaden were hard at work thanks to our incredible agents, Debbie and Lisa Ganz, at Twins Talent.... They just finished a national commercial for Volkswagen (VW) http://www.vw.com .

They went from playing Maggie Gyllenhaal's (The Dark Knight) kid in next year's block buster film with multiple Academy award director Sam Mendes at the helm, to playing a principle role along side Brooke Shields in this new commercial. Yes, I said Brooke Shields. Everyone on set in Brooklyn was so kind to both Candi and I. We had a blast (except for the heat wave we are having here). Brooke had here kids in toe so we felt quite comfortable having Brendan and Jaden running around having fun. I remember watching her in the Blue Lagoon many moons ago as a young child so to see her standing on a street corner in Brooklyn with my kids is kind of funny. Well God's blessings keep pouring out in all areas don't they?

We get the usual "how do you tell them apart" all day from the huge crews and great people around us and as usual Candi can tell them apart... and I still have no clue. I'm with them 24/7 and still can not find a way to tell them apart. Don't laugh at me because if I do meet you with them in toe you will be quizzed at their names as well after one introduction and a quick "shell game".  :-)

More in the works for Brendan and Jaden soon for all who follow their career.

New Music Announcement at Cornerstone Festival:

I had such a blast at the Cornerstone Festival http://www.cornerstonefestival.com . The warm reception and gracious people (John Herrin and family, Tom Lavin, and many more) that helped our family feel at home amongst so many in attendance (around 100,000) goes beyond our expectations of hospitality.

This was the event I chose to announce what had been so secretly quiet since my departure from Anthrax. The new music and the people who have been quietly recording on my creations were announced. Those in attendance got to see me speak both on the Main Stage, as well as a wonderful question and answer Press Conference during the day hours. I felt such a warming embrace to those who were there to listen to what God has placed upon my heart to achieve. Creating this new kind of music brought me both closer to Christ, as well as closer to so many aspects of music creation. I do feel (as I did in the past) that I have created an entirely new sound never heard by the human ear before.

Of course the biggest part of the music announcement people seem to want to know more about is my singing. Yes, I am singing on all the new music and those who have heard it are just loving it so very much. I worked so hard at perfecting my voice for this music. Who better to relay the message set forth within me, than me....  I actually really like singing and can't wait to hit the stages doing so.

Some close friends, and of course record company executives there at Cornerstone, were amongst the first to be blown away by what is to come to the Christian heavy metal genre.  My brother Peter Baltes, from the legendary band "Accept", (who has tracked all the bass on the project) stood alongside me at the festival as well. Matt Thompson from the band "King Diamond" did some drum overdubs and will be my touring drummer, but was not available to attend.

Of course I had a great time watching Brian "Head" Welch from Korn speak  on the main stage as well. I can tell he is blessed in so many ways. I'm very much looking forward to the both of us bringing forth the talent we have been blessed with forthright into the community were it belongs.
An uplifting and next level is about to appear in the Christian music scene and those who know, do in fact "Really" know what God has in store.

Back in the studio now for more work!

Master Watchmaker stuff:

So the ever expanding repair facility is taking shape and more machines have arrived. The luxury "Leviev" http://www.leviev.com timepieces I have here for service are simply incredible works of human art. Carved from solid blocks of 18K gold with the finest La Joux-Perret mechanical complicated movements available placed within. I find myself so blessed and honored to have the ability and Swiss master watchmaker schooling degrees to peer inside and take them apart piece by piece. Perfection at its finest hour on my bench. I think these models on my bench now start in the price range of $20,000 - $30,000 USD currency if you are interested in obtaining one or two or.......

Being the master watchmaker of complications specialist for all of North America for the Leviev group has brought more Swiss tools on my bench. So many tools that I'm designing a new watchmaker bench and will keep you all posted as to it's comfort upon arrival. I simply just need a bit more real estate, as I do have in Switzerland when I work on perpetual calendars and the like.

If you get a chance swing by Leviev on Madison Ave. in NYC or London or Russia or soon to come Dubai.

Music:

So it's about time some of the hard work and secret sauce of the new music comes to life!

I have been invited to speak at one of the largest Christian music festivals of the year (alongside Brian Welch, formerly of Korn). The attendance will be approximately 100,000+ so it should be a wonderful time for me, as well as the twins and Candi. The festival is called "Cornerstone" http://www.cornerstonefestival.com . We are making a family adventure out of this engagement, as well as bringing along Brendan and Jaden for support. Haaa haaa.. After two years of searching for a new type of music and sound to create (as I did in the past) I have what is to be quite the next level of my inner most being to share with the world. All this because of my best bud Dave Mustaine of Megadeth yelled at me on the phone and said  "play your guitar".

In addition, I will be announcing some of the players that are involved with the project. One of them will be at the festival and with me during the press onslaught. You won't believe who this metal legend is. Get ready for a very long and creative pounding adventure to begin again. I will have many songs completed and mixed in my IPOD and some very select individuals will get to hear what is to come.

I have been quiet for a long time regarding when my guitar and writing skills would sing again. Now it sings for all of you once again.. . .  .    I hope my love and his love will give you all love.

Master Watchmaker Stuff:

My new service center is almost complete and expanded to handle the duties of being the sole master watchmaker of complications specialist for all of North America for the luxury group "Leviev" http://www.leviev.com . I will be taking care of some of the world's most complicated and expensive mechanical timepieces known to mankind in my private facility. The need for my rare Swiss pedigree and skills in this country has led me to help others as well. The new service center will give me the ability to train other watchmakers. If you are not familiar with Leviev please do know they are the largest producer of diamonds, as well as mining and holding the largest diamond pieces on planet earth. They supply most of the other luxury groups there diamonds. Quite incredible to see the size of their diamonds.

I will also start to open certain service center areas of repairs / sales for luxury timepieces to the general public in the coming months. This will be done in a new creative way, however.

The new service center has been expanded to include a full polishing / satin finishing room (in addition to the complication room), complete with a special micro miniature lathe and special 4 jaw German watch case holding chucks for satin finishing duties, at expenses valued upward of $24,000 just for these two pieces. The buffing / polishing machines / ultrasonic tanks are top of the line as well and I feel so blessed to have the ability to have them here.. Switzerland is in my shop now. No difference between being in a complication room in Switzerland or in my service center.

Feel free to contact Candi if you have watch needs or would like to sell your timepiece via consignment. Running or not I will service and sell your luxury timepiece for you. If you're in a famous band you'll get extra special attention, of course, only I could understand.

Brands that can be serviced / sold on consignment with my guarantee of stability include:

Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Chopard LUC specialist/certified, Panerai, Jaeger LeCoultre, IWC, Breitling, Omega speedmasters and most luxury vintage chronograph timepieces circa 1900-1970

(my specialty).

May 18, 2008

Well we're back from filming in picturesque Connecticut and still a bit exhausted. Our identical twin boys, Brendan and Jaden, had us tag teaming on the babysitting duty on set once again. Daddy Dan had his Baby Sherpa diaper bag in full use this time. One diaper, two diaper, three diaper more, please. ... ... .. .

Brendan and Jaden have now finished shooting their scenes for the upcoming movie "Farlanders."  We would like to thank Sam Mendes for choosing our twins for his upcoming project.  It was incredible just to watch the genius at work.  We would also like to thank Jennifer and all at TJ Productions, John Dunn and his wardrobe team, and the rest of the crew ( Anthrax freaks included ) for making the boys' first movie such a wonderful experience.  The boys had all of their toys loaded up inside their trailer and had a blast with all of the wonderful cast and crew who came to play with them.

Brendan and Jaden would like to thank Bailey Harkins, who plays their big brother in the movie, for running endless laps around some trees keeping the boys cracking up (as well as the rest of us). Hey Bailey, wipe the sweat off of your brow and we will see you on the next film together.

We would also like to say a very special thank you to Maggie Gyllenhaal for being so sweet to Brendan and Jaden.  She is such a kind hearted person and the boys just adored her.  We hope to work with her again on future projects.

Stay tuned as Brendan and Jaden have more projects in the works.  And a very special 1st BIRTHDAY coming up on MAY 29th :)

Now back to making some killer music in the studio for all of you.

Dan

May 11, 2008

So, the first week of being on set for the working titled Sam Mendes' film "Farlanders" which our twins, Brendan and Jaden, are debuting in has simply been WONDERFUL! Just a quick update as we head back out on to a different location for shooting this week...

Academy Award winning Director, Sam Mendes, Maggie Gyllenhaal, John Krasinksi, and Maya Rudolph as well as all of the huge crew of over 150 people have been just INCREDIBLE with our little metal kids turned feature film stars. Brendan and Jaden Spitz are Maggie's children in the film and just love to be with her. They are so comfortable within her arms they even fell asleep leaving the need for Dad (that would be me) to head out for baby sitting duty with identical number 2 (I still can't tell them apart) to swap out for filming. There are some extremely hilarious scenes that I'm sure will crack you up some time next year when this film opens.  It's all a secret until then...

This week should be an adventure on set I'm sure.

Brendan and Jaden Spitz have some other announcements coming shortly as well regarding new Ads and Endorsements. Our "Twins Management Team" Debbie and Lisa Ganz are working overtime I'm sure.

"Baby Sherpa" has just designed an adorable unique fabric designed Pink Camoflage diaper bag / backpack for my wife, Candi, which we hope to display in pics on our site as well as their's in the coming weeks.   Baby Sherpa bags can also be seen on the golf course as Tiger Woods and his wife have these bags as well. Candi's bag is just spectacular , especially if you have children on the go. She was able to carry an entire day's worth of food, snacks, toys, clothes, etc FOR TWO while filming and still had lots of room.  There is no equal for anyone with twins. Twin moms know how hard it is to find your needs met. When packed full you don't even know you're wearing it. In fact, this backpack is so incredible I have taken over the original black one, which they sent her while her's was being designed, for my own personal use. Pictures soon to come or you may contact Baby Sherpa directly for ordering information.  www.BabySherpa.com

Yeah, that's right. Move over Olsen twins... Spitz twins on the way with guitars in hand...

Blessings,
Dan

On the twins front:
We have exciting news to announce...  The Spitz Twins are heading to the big screen!!!!
Brendan and Jaden (age 11 months) have landed their first movie role.  They will be playing actress Maggie Gyllenhaal's baby in the currently Untitled Sam Mendes Project, an upcoming relationship comedy for Focus Features.  An amazing cast has been put together for this film, which includes: Maggie Gyllenhaal, John Krasinski, Maya Rudolph, Allison Janney, Cheryl Hines, Melanie Lynskey, Jim Gaffigan, Jeff Daniels and many more...

There is also a nice interview regarding the twins, Candi and I here:  http://www.celebritybabies.info/index.php/2008/04/22/1st-ever-celebrity-interview-dan-and-candi-spitz/

On the watchmaking front:
I have agreed to help one of my wonderful business associates Mr.Thierry Chaunu ( former president of Cartier and Chopard ) bring his new luxury group's service of high end timepieces to Switerland levels, right here in the USA. I will be the sole master watchmaker for all mechanical complications for North America for the new luxury group "Leviev" http://www.leviev.com/. If you are not familiar with the Leviev name please have this wonderful read from the NY Times http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09/16/magazine/16Leviev-t.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1. Mr. Leviev is believed to be the richest man in Israel with a net worth of 8 billion dollars, Forbes list #210 and owns the largest diamond mines / cutting business in the world. What a pleasure it is to be a part of this incredible new journey with them.

On the music front:
I am doing some music for an upcoming Nickelodeon cartoon along with my orchestral composer partner Mr. Kevin Manthei. Some other scoring for other projects that can not be announced, as well as the continued forward motion of my own project, of course. Lots of Grammy nominated musicians involved so far.

Warm Regards to all,
Dan

If you have wondered where I've been you can view this first before reading on:

http://www.celebritybabies.info/  ( a couple down ) or
Celebrity Babies Blog » Dan Spitz’ Mirror-Image Twins: Brendan and Jaden <http://www.celebritybabies.info/index.php/2008/02/28/dan-spitz-identical-cuties-brendan-and-jaden/>  (direct link to article)

Candi and I are beginning to almost know our names now. Our beautiful twin identical mirror image babies had severe screaming fits that lasted upwards of sixteen hours per day for almost six months straight, since birth. This is an unknown medical syndrome entitled "Colic" with no cure, no help and not understood by anyone in the medical profession as of yet. The boys (x2) both had the most severe cases of this. I am totally convinced of one medical doctor's explanation of brain nerve endings not fully developed and as the nerves are growing and trying to fuse / attach there is severe pain. It is a switch on / switch off instant spasm I've witnessed countless times on both boys. Other professionals in the field say it is organ related. We had two to watch that were identical in genome. Nope. That would be just a side effect of countless hours of screaming non stop louder than any guitar amplifier known to mankind.

As the Colic ended we had five days of sleep and they both starting screaming again due to a mouth full of teeth coming in. Due to the "Mirror Image" twin thing they're getting teeth on opposite sides of each other's mouths as well. Freeeeeeky Deeeeeky!!!!

The music is coming along very well and there are some metal legends involved, as well as a two time Grammy nominated drummer (this year's Grammys). I can say it is and will be a groundbreaking sound creation as you would only expect from my past. More when I feel comfortable.

My luxury watch line is moving along nicely as well. My business partners and I have launched a home page http://www.AmericanMetalWatchCompany.com .

The timepieces and business model will be quite unique. There are many celebrities already in place for what will be offered and only can only be offered by using my quite unique cross platform credentials.

More to come including a whole new web site in the works.

Much Love and Blessings,
Dan

Babies Arrival:
Announcing the arrival of twin identical healthy Spitz boys.
We have Brendan Alan Spitz at 7.1 pounds 19 1/2 inches and Jaden Michael Spitz at 6.2 pounds  19 1/2 inches. They arrived two minutes apart on May 29th and Candi, my honey, and I have not slept since ...

Music:
I have been very busy over the past many months working alongside one of the world's most famous orchestral composers of Film, Gaming and television, Kevin Manthei. His credentials include Shrek and Shrek 2 along with over 50 game titles including the huge Invader Zim game, as well as Xiaolin Showdown Warner Brothers animated series just to name drop a blip on his resume. It's been a wonderful studio adventure making music with him for the gaming community and making my heavy right handed riffs fit alongside his orchestral NIN pulsating Nord stuff. We are now writing for an epic collaboration for an upcoming blockbuster big screen film series.

I've also built a small studio here in the new place and already have six songs almost complete for my solo cd. Of course this also helps with the compositions alongside Mr.Manthei and all others who call as well.

I will post demo songs soon enough. They are pounding and ripping with lead guitar work that surpasses anything I have ever done on any of the classic Anthrax cd's . I also recorded a great lead for my friend Greg's new band Dirty DNA that will be released shortly at a large studio here in New York. The song is called Cocko De Blocko. I'll keep you informed. So all in all the guitar has not left my hands in months and months. All this music has stemmed from a long phone conversation with my bud Dave Mustaine of Megadeth. Having a wonderful friend you talk to on a daily basis is something all should try to find.

Spitz Luxury Timepiece and Adventures in Switzerland:
I have returned from an extensive journey over to visit Corum world watch headquarters and production    in La Chaux De Fonds, Switzerland. We had killer meetings concerning my timepiece production. The President or Corum Michael even told me my old friends from Slayer had called recently inquiring about some timepieces, so I know I am at the right place to produce the metal timepiece by a metal master watchmaker. You can view pictures of my journey through the Corum factory, as well as the La Joux Perret movement factory. They make the most expensive and complicated movements in the world for such company's as Panerai in the picture gallery. Follow the "On Dan's Bench" button to view some insane expensive Ferrari's for the wrist.

More Soon,
Spitz

February 22, 2007

On the home front:
My wife, Candi, has been struggling along with twin identical boys inside her very small frame so it's been quite busy here, as you can well imagine. She is bed ridden at this time due to the complications of having twins. So, I'm here by her side for her every need.

On the master watchmaker / music business timepiece production front:
I have been very busy going to beautiful Switzerland (even dragged Candi there) moving along my patents and personal inventions of micro mechanical engineering and implementation of them into the mechanics of the movements for the timepieces. There is much excitement within my parent company to bring awareness of my metal friends, the metal fans and my metal background to an industry (luxury watches) that will embrace us all in a new and exciting way. More as this progresses. There will be an extremely unique luxury timepiece that has a quality that is better than a Rolex coming from my hands to your wrists very soon. In addition, there will be many aspects of the timepiece and its after sales service avenues that are ground breaking to this industry.

On the Anthrax front:
I know there has been a lot of speculation on my end of things regarding what has transpired lately in the press. I am sorry to report however that I will not comment at this time regarding the business side of things at this moment.

I will comment on my loving brothers of Anthrax (Joey, Scott, Charlie and Frank) by saying that you are truly my friends forever. Anthrax has been what I bleed if you cut me since Scott, Charlie and I started this ride and dream when we were mere tadpoles in training with a dream.

More very soon.

Best,
Spitz

October 23, 2006

So I'm back from the Japanese shows with Megadeth, Slayer, Dio and a host of others...

I'm just sitting here thinking about the last eighteen months of the Anthrax reunion cycle, and before I head over to Switzerland to start some meetings regarding the Spitz luxury timepieces. The highlights that will stay with me into eternity, I mean the ones that foam to the top.

These have to be my Wife and children standing on the side of stage smiling away, first and foremost. After that just seeing my friend and brother Dave Mustaine of Megadeth tear it up nightly blows me away. I'm usually just standing on the side while he plays smiling away ready to rip out of my skin. I blow off free record company dinners and more just to see Dave play and spend some private time just laughing with him. I have to say coming on center stage and sharing a mic with him to sing "Peace Sells" together in Japan was a moment in time that will never leave this tiny body. I think Dave is one of the best rhythm metal guitar players I have ever seen play. I think him and Slash are probably two of the most under rated metal guitarists there are. Well someday I'm sure our two guitars will meet and the heavens will crack open as our guitars rip into a rendition of "Take No Prisoners" live. That song just crushes me! Of course just seeing my fans and feeling the love is beyond words I can express.

As promised we have started to put up some picts of me working on some of the worlds most complicated and expensive luxury timepieces here http://www.spitzwatch.com/rac.html. I'll post more picts here live from Switzerland during the entire process of manufacturing the Spitz heavy metal luxury timepieces as they come to fruition as well.

 Gear:

I am happy to see my signature guitar pedal coming along with my bud Robert at http://robertkeeley.com. It is big Muff based, but of an extreme high fidelity no cost to expensive design. I designed and soldered the beta version up and have been testing it live for a year now. Just pure oozing tone to die for.  Robert is taking it into the next level that I could never ever even fathom.  My signature model PRS guitar that is made out of solid Korina with an ebony fingerboard is coming to market shortly as well. We are also working on the first ever PRS Flying V / Randy Rhoads type of shape, but twisted up. It's going to be sick!

My affiliation with http://www.PedalTrain.com pedal boards has grown to include some very wonderful signature products I designed coming along nicely as well. Have a look at my amp that Phil Jamison (genius) has been pumping out to many metal heads including Gilby here http://matchlessamplifiers.com/match_independence.html. He was kind of enough to put up a quote from me. This is no normal amp. It has no circuit boards and sounds like a 10,000 pound Marshall on steroids. I have some very special road cases of my design being brought out as well from http://roadreadycases.com/. There in the beta mode, but it is a really neat idea. Steen at Skrydstrup http://skrydstrup.com is almost complete with a delay pedal for me that I'm really excited to hear and has placed me on his site as well here http://skrydstrup.com/ARTISTS.htm, and my gear here http://skrydstrup.com/CUSTOMSHOP.htm. My bud Pete Cornish as well has placed me on his site here http://petecornish.co.uk/client.html#anchor2006.here. I need to create things due to my mechanical OCD abilities and disease, and the above people and companies have been so kind as to letting me have a go with some crazy stuff.

Oh yeah, best news of all. Candi and I are expecting a new child to be brought into our loving arms before summer!

Peace,

Dan

News:    Today is 2008

August 14, 2006

Well the Rob Zombie / Anthrax comes to a close and let me say it was quite incredible. John 5, the guitarist for Zombie, as well as all in the band and crew are absolutely the kindest people I have ever encountered in my musical touring career. I even had my entire family out for a bit so the kiddies would get a chance to see the Zombie giant twenty foot monster that comes onstage. The crew actually went out of there way to get my kids private little seats all their own on the side of the stage so they could see perfectly. Like I said much respect for Rob and all. Above and beyond the call of duty. May you all prosper and stay happy and healthy on the upcoming Godsmack / Rob Zombie tour.

I also pounded my three register mechanical chronograph watches I am beta testing live on stage each and every night on the tour to death! So after some additional real world beta testing of the Spitz kind: like fans body surfing bodies landing on them, Beer on them, Human Spit on them, Monster drink on them, My ten pounds of sweat each night on them, Over winding, Under winding, Running flat, Smashed onto the drum riser, Stepped on, 110 degree stage and lights to ice cold trucks blasted on them,  Dropped into road cases after the shows and transported via 18 wheel semi's shaking them to death to the next city only to be pounded again.... I have not seen one hiccup on one of the best built complicated timepiece cases I have had the pleasure of ripping apart. Two thousand feet of water resistance, super luminova for on stage darkness reading when the house lights go down and I hear that crowd roar, and the complication of a mechanical chronograph inside is just perfect for everyday pounding. Beta test is over! I'll keep you informed as the Spitz timepieces and other amazing ideas for complicated timepieces from my hands to yours starts be available.

Also please have a look as I'm starting to put up a bunch of pictures of my complicated watch service centers in the picture gallery's. If you are awaiting the Spitz watch as a consumer or metal head or producer or manager or musician or just simply a fan of fine timepieces some extreme knowledge of how they are repaired and the micro miniature tools necessary to fix a timepiece that's engine is compared to a formula one race car for the wrist, please have a look as it is quite fascinating. I often have brain surgeons sit next me and hang out as they use a lot of the same tools and concentration level necessary for a zero tolerance error job.

I am also letting you know that the Spitz sanctioned official guitar string sets should be available at a Guitar Center near you momentarily from Everly Music. There a special nickel alloy that is by far the the most musical full spectrum string I have ever used. There called the B-52 bombers and have a string gauge of 009. to 56. My face is on the cover with my signature model Paul Reed Smith guitar and my Oakleys.

I'm also working on many designs for guitar products with other companies such as Pedal Train on my own pedalboards and products, Robert Keeley on my own pedal, PRS Guitars on my own signature model guitars that are not just built in the private stock rooms and available to everyone, my signature line of road cases from Road Ready Cases and much....much...much more.

So after a wonderful tour and all those happy faces staring at me filled with love what would someone such as myself do? Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep on my pillow top bed with my honey and wake up to my kiddies happy faces. It's the simple things in life that make some of happy you know. Love, love and more love.....

Much in the works before the Anthrax / Megadeth Japan festival dates....

June 25, 2006

Well all has been going well here as we ramp up for the Rob Zombie/Anthrax summer tour. I hope to see all you wonderful supporters of metal there going insane. There is a lot in the works here behind the scenes, as usual, so I'll just give snippets of the fun at hand.

I‚m spending most of my time in the north east with my two wonderful children and loving wife Candi. We even pasted some back stage passes on the kids and headed out to the Nick Lachey / Marcos Hernandez show in New York and watched them grin from ear to ear. You know having the kids onstage one month with you thrashers just hurling your bodies in moshing pit style in the middle of the song Indians and then the next time, they're wearing passes it's Jessica's old beau Nick, should either broaden their horizon or absolutely confuse it. Well-rounded, I always say! I think my ears will never recover from the 100% female screams that are surely 1 billion times louder than any guitar amplifier I have ever played through.

We are just about an inch away from finalizing the first ever Dan Spitz timepiece available to the public. This partnership with a famous Swiss watch manufacturer known worldwide since the 1800‚s for their extreme water resistant diving watches has no equal. Many of you who I've meet along this ride in music have asked when will it happen due to my extensive Swiss/USA watchmaker schooling, love and passion for fine timepieces. Well, the days grow closer to you being able to have something on your wrist that comes from me as well as being able to be kinda‚ hot rodded by me personally after purchase. I'll keep the rest to myself for now. Just know if you are in a band and want a timepiece with a personal touch that can‚t be destroyed, the time is very close Punk!

On the musical equipment front, I am happy to report I have been blessed with the delivery of my first "WatchTower" signature amplifier from Phil at Matchless amplifiers. It is the first ever 6L6 power tubed three channel amp they have ever made. If you are a guitarist and long for an amp that has both the Marshall gain the Dumble swirlies along with a hint of Fender tweed and a DC-30 chime you‚re getting the picture now. Beta testing is in progress on the upcoming tour.

If you were at the Sammy Hagar show in south Florida you might have caught my brother and former Black Sabbath, Great White,White Lion and all other bands with the word White in them Dave "The Beast" Spitz  playing War Pigs! His band was one of the opening acts. I heard through the grapevine that as soon as he started pummeling his bass guitar all dropped there drinks and headed for the stage in amazement (as usual) when he plugs in. There is no equal monster who plays four strings on this planet that I know of.

I"m also fortunate in receiving and playing a new Paul Reed Smith private stock hand made guitar that just takes my breath away. I can't believe the birds in-layed into the neck fretboard are actually solid 14k gold/white gold as well as the giant eagle on the headstock. I get to press my little dirty fingers on solid gold every day now. I guess I've finally arrived, where I don‚t know, but I've arrived somewhere...

Well all you peeps I'm back from the European tour and happy to report complete freakin' chaos and a wooosie feeling of jet lag from my trip aboard the Milan to the U.S.A. flight of doom. Thank you to all the sick fans who came to the shows and especially the absolute killer metal scene in Finland! That country is most definitely bubbling from the icebergs to the soil with metal and leads the world in metal running through the veins. It has also become my 3rd favorite country in Europe. I love the people, the feeling I get in my soul and most of all the kindness and generosity of my fans both old and young. It's like the "I can cut the air with a knife" feeling of yesteryear before every show. It reminds me of watching Cliff Burton of Metallica do his bass solo when we toured with them. I think the crowd was louder than the sound system! ....

As good as it feels to be home I have many things in the works behind the scenes already. Did you think the Anthrax touring cycle was over? Nope! More to come soon on this as it is hush hush for today.

Also to report is the first tour with my prototype solid Korina / ebony fingerboard / three P-90 alnico magnet Paul Reed Smith guitar. The only one in existence. OMGoodness I have finally found Nirvana in a tone machine! This thing is never leaving my side ever. I'm going to beat the crap out of it until I reach the forevermore with Hendrix. Winn and Joe Knaggs at PRS are simply geniuses in creating this monster with its internal hollow tone chambers and hand picked wood from there private stock room. We are officially underway in creating the first of many "Spitz" signature model guitars to be sold worldwide in the coming months. Get your checkbooks ready for the waiting list!

I've also been blessed to visit my favorite place on earth once again the "Duomo" church in Milan, Italy. If you ever get the chance to see architecture that simply can not be put into any human words please get on a Jet and get you and your Mrs. to the center of Milan and go inside. It will be a life changing experience to say the least. I brought the boys from the band Beyond Fear (Ripper Owens band) there to give them some culture and I think they can't speak now. Haaaa haaa....

Please see this awesome Guitar Player magazine article on the Spitz/Ian team back in action and taking prisoners once again: Article

April 4th, 2006

Well, watch efficianados and music lovers, take note that the worldwide watch magazine "Tourneau Times" that is put out by the largest high end watch store in the world has printed a wonderful full page article on me.  Page1/Page2 It is all about movie/television/music stars and there timepieces. The magazine contains an interview I did a while back. I'm just so thankful to all the kind peeps that were involved in this article as well as my video interview that was done at their facility in N.Y.C. when the Anthrax reunion started. They actually presented me with an extremely expensive private stock type of mechanical timepiece they make under their own brand as a gift. It contains my favorite 'beater' type of daily wear movement inside called an ETA/Val.7750 chronograph and is hand decorated with what we call "cotes' de Geneve" decorations on all its internal silver plates. Also see some sick timepieces at there own website address http://www.tourneau.com . I'm off to Scotland tomorrow to see some castles and play some high energy metal. Hope to see all of you there pounding your heads to some of my songs this week.

Welcome all newcomers to SpitzWatch.com. As I prepare for the beginning of the European Anthrax tour I just simply can not help but to get really excited deep down inside about what will transpire upon my return a month or so from now to the States. The first new real Anthrax music in over thirteen years will begin to be made and then recorded/embedded into music history. The five of us in a small room eating a lot of take out food once again.

I have been accepting the love and wonderful gifts from Jesus of bringing my guitar playing abilities to new levels. I have been playing six hours a day minimum and have received incredible inspiration from a few new Paul Reed Smith prototype guitars I have been developing with them. I'll post some pictures soon of my new babies and have to say they are two of the finest instruments I have ever had the pleasure of touching.

I am also starting to receive offers for side projects and permanent future musical endeavors (not of the metal kind) and will be on my way into un-chartered musical territory shortly. I hope to bring all my global friends a wonderful taste of some insane guitar playing and pieces of my soul that simply can not be showcased in the fast paced thrash metal genre of Anthrax.
