Out and About with Good Charlotte: July 24, 2008
Brendan and Jaden:
Of course I had a great time watching Brian
"Head" Welch from Korn speak on the main
stage as well. I can tell he is blessed in so
many ways. I'm very much looking forward to the
both of us bringing forth the talent we have
been blessed with forthright into the community
were it belongs.
June 26, 2008 Music: So it's about time some of the hard work and secret sauce of the new music comes to life! I have been invited to speak at one of the largest Christian music festivals of the year (alongside Brian Welch, formerly of Korn). The attendance will be approximately 100,000+ so it should be a wonderful time for me, as well as the twins and Candi. The festival is called "Cornerstone" http://www.cornerstonefestival.com . We are making a family adventure out of this engagement, as well as bringing along Brendan and Jaden for support. Haaa haaa.. After two years of searching for a new type of music and sound to create (as I did in the past) I have what is to be quite the next level of my inner most being to share with the world. All this because of my best bud Dave Mustaine of Megadeth yelled at me on the phone and said "play your guitar". In addition, I will be announcing some of the players that are involved with the project. One of them will be at the festival and with me during the press onslaught. You won't believe who this metal legend is. Get ready for a very long and creative pounding adventure to begin again. I will have many songs completed and mixed in my IPOD and some very select individuals will get to hear what is to come. I have been quiet for a long time regarding when my guitar and writing skills would sing again. Now it sings for all of you once again.. . . . I hope my love and his love will give you all love. Master Watchmaker Stuff: My new service center is almost complete and expanded to handle the duties of being the sole master watchmaker of complications specialist for all of North America for the luxury group "Leviev" http://www.leviev.com . I will be taking care of some of the world's most complicated and expensive mechanical timepieces known to mankind in my private facility. The need for my rare Swiss pedigree and skills in this country has led me to help others as well. The new service center will give me the ability to train other watchmakers. If you are not familiar with Leviev please do know they are the largest producer of diamonds, as well as mining and holding the largest diamond pieces on planet earth. They supply most of the other luxury groups there diamonds. Quite incredible to see the size of their diamonds. I will also start to open certain service center areas of repairs / sales for luxury timepieces to the general public in the coming months. This will be done in a new creative way, however. The new service center has been expanded to include a full polishing / satin finishing room (in addition to the complication room), complete with a special micro miniature lathe and special 4 jaw German watch case holding chucks for satin finishing duties, at expenses valued upward of $24,000 just for these two pieces. The buffing / polishing machines / ultrasonic tanks are top of the line as well and I feel so blessed to have the ability to have them here.. Switzerland is in my shop now. No difference between being in a complication room in Switzerland or in my service center. Feel free to contact Candi if you have watch needs or would like to sell your timepiece via consignment. Running or not I will service and sell your luxury timepiece for you. If you're in a famous band you'll get extra special attention, of course, only I could understand. Brands that can be serviced / sold on consignment with my guarantee of stability include: Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Chopard LUC specialist/certified, Panerai, Jaeger LeCoultre, IWC, Breitling, Omega speedmasters and most luxury vintage chronograph timepieces circa 1900-1970 (my specialty). Master Watchmaker Credentials and incredible pictures of the mad master watchmaker: Credentials / Diplomas / Swiss Certifications: http://www.spitzwatch.com/credentials.html Working on some of the worlds most complicated wristwatches both in Switzerland and USA: http://www.spitzwatch.com/rac.html Warm Regards to All, Daniel May 18, 2008 Well we're back from filming in picturesque Connecticut and still a bit exhausted. Our identical twin boys, Brendan and Jaden, had us tag teaming on the babysitting duty on set once again. Daddy Dan had his Baby Sherpa diaper bag in full use this time. One diaper, two diaper, three diaper more, please. ... ... .. . Brendan and Jaden have now finished shooting their scenes for the upcoming movie "Farlanders." We would like to thank Sam Mendes for choosing our twins for his upcoming project. It was incredible just to watch the genius at work. We would also like to thank Jennifer and all at TJ Productions, John Dunn and his wardrobe team, and the rest of the crew ( Anthrax freaks included ) for making the boys' first movie such a wonderful experience. The boys had all of their toys loaded up inside their trailer and had a blast with all of the wonderful cast and crew who came to play with them. Brendan and Jaden would like to thank Bailey Harkins, who plays their big brother in the movie, for running endless laps around some trees keeping the boys cracking up (as well as the rest of us). Hey Bailey, wipe the sweat off of your brow and we will see you on the next film together. We would also like to say a very special thank you to Maggie Gyllenhaal for being so sweet to Brendan and Jaden. She is such a kind hearted person and the boys just adored her. We hope to work with her again on future projects. Stay tuned as Brendan and Jaden have more projects in the works. And a very special 1st BIRTHDAY coming up on MAY 29th :) Now back to making some killer music in the studio for all of you. Dan
May 11, 2008 So, the first week of being
on set for the working titled Sam Mendes' film "Farlanders"
which our twins, Brendan and Jaden, are debuting
in has simply been WONDERFUL! Just a quick
update as we head back out on to a different
location for shooting this week... May 5, 2008 On the twins front: On the watchmaking front: February 29, 2008 If you have wondered where
I've been you can view this first before reading
on: June 6, 2007 Babies Arrival: February 22, 2007 On the home front: October 23 , 2006So I'm back from the Japanese shows with Megadeth, Slayer, Dio and a host of others... I'm just sitting here thinking about the last eighteen months of the Anthrax reunion cycle, and before I head over to Switzerland to start some meetings regarding the Spitz luxury timepieces. The highlights that will stay with me into eternity, I mean the ones that foam to the top. These have to be my Wife and children standing on the side of stage smiling away, first and foremost. After that just seeing my friend and brother Dave Mustaine of Megadeth tear it up nightly blows me away. I'm usually just standing on the side while he plays smiling away ready to rip out of my skin. I blow off free record company dinners and more just to see Dave play and spend some private time just laughing with him. I have to say coming on center stage and sharing a mic with him to sing "Peace Sells" together in Japan was a moment in time that will never leave this tiny body. I think Dave is one of the best rhythm metal guitar players I have ever seen play. I think him and Slash are probably two of the most under rated metal guitarists there are. Well someday I'm sure our two guitars will meet and the heavens will crack open as our guitars rip into a rendition of "Take No Prisoners" live. That song just crushes me! Of course just seeing my fans and feeling the love is beyond words I can express. As promised we have started to put up some picts of me working on some of the worlds most complicated and expensive luxury timepieces here http://www.spitzwatch.com/rac.html. I'll post more picts here live from Switzerland during the entire process of manufacturing the Spitz heavy metal luxury timepieces as they come to fruition as well. Gear: I am happy to see my signature guitar pedal coming along with my bud Robert at http://robertkeeley.com. It is big Muff based, but of an extreme high fidelity no cost to expensive design. I designed and soldered the beta version up and have been testing it live for a year now. Just pure oozing tone to die for. Robert is taking it into the next level that I could never ever even fathom. My signature model PRS guitar that is made out of solid Korina with an ebony fingerboard is coming to market shortly as well. We are also working on the first ever PRS Flying V / Randy Rhoads type of shape, but twisted up. It's going to be sick! My affiliation with http://www.PedalTrain.com pedal boards has grown to include some very wonderful signature products I designed coming along nicely as well. Have a look at my amp that Phil Jamison (genius) has been pumping out to many metal heads including Gilby here http://matchlessamplifiers.com/match_independence.html. He was kind of enough to put up a quote from me. This is no normal amp. It has no circuit boards and sounds like a 10,000 pound Marshall on steroids. I have some very special road cases of my design being brought out as well from http://roadreadycases.com/. There in the beta mode, but it is a really neat idea. Steen at Skrydstrup http://skrydstrup.com is almost complete with a delay pedal for me that I'm really excited to hear and has placed me on his site as well here http://skrydstrup.com/ARTISTS.htm, and my gear here http://skrydstrup.com/CUSTOMSHOP.htm. My bud Pete Cornish as well has placed me on his site here http://petecornish.co.uk/client.html#anchor2006.here. I need to create things due to my mechanical OCD abilities and disease, and the above people and companies have been so kind as to letting me have a go with some crazy stuff. Oh yeah, best news of all. Candi and I are expecting a new child to be brought into our loving arms before summer! Peace, Dan |

News:
Today is
2008 August 14, 2006 Well the Rob Zombie / Anthrax
comes to a close and let me say it was quite incredible. John 5, the
guitarist for Zombie, as well as all in the band and crew are absolutely
the kindest people I have ever encountered in my musical touring career.
I even had my entire family out for a bit so the kiddies would get a
chance to see the Zombie giant twenty foot monster that comes onstage.
The crew actually went out of there way to get my kids private little
seats all their own on the side of the stage so they could see
perfectly. Like I said much respect for Rob and all. Above and beyond
the call of duty. May you all prosper and stay happy and healthy on the
upcoming Godsmack / Rob Zombie tour. June 25, 2006 Well all has
been going well here as we ramp up for the Rob Zombie/Anthrax summer
tour. I hope to see all you wonderful supporters of metal there going
insane. There is a lot in the works here behind the scenes, as usual, so
I'll just give snippets of the fun at hand. May 2, 2006 Well all you peeps I'm back from
the European tour and happy to report complete freakin' chaos and a
wooosie feeling of jet lag from my trip aboard the Milan to the U.S.A.
flight of doom. Thank you to all the sick fans who came to the shows and
especially the absolute killer metal scene in Finland! That country is
most definitely bubbling from the icebergs to the soil with metal and
leads the world in metal running through the veins. It has also become
my 3rd favorite country in Europe. I love the people, the feeling I get
in my soul and most of all the kindness and generosity of my fans both
old and young. It's like the "I can cut the air with a knife" feeling of
yesteryear before every show. It reminds me of watching Cliff Burton of
Metallica do his bass solo when we toured with them. I think the crowd
was louder than the sound system! .... May 1, 2006
Please see this awesome Guitar Player
magazine article on the Spitz/Ian team back in action and taking
prisoners once again:
Article
April 4th, 2006 Well, watch efficianados and music
lovers, take note that the worldwide watch magazine "Tourneau Times"
that is put out by the largest high end watch store in the world has
printed a wonderful full page article on me.
Page1/Page2
It is all about movie/television/music stars and there timepieces. The
magazine contains an interview I did a while back. I'm just so thankful
to all the kind peeps that were involved in this article as well as my
video interview that was done at their facility in N.Y.C. when the
Anthrax reunion started. They actually presented me with an extremely
expensive private stock type of mechanical timepiece they make under
their own brand as a gift. It contains my favorite 'beater' type of
daily wear movement inside called an ETA/Val.7750 chronograph and is
hand decorated with what we call "cotes' de Geneve" decorations on all
its internal silver plates. Also see some sick timepieces at there own
website address
http://www.tourneau.com . I'm off to Scotland tomorrow to see some
castles and play some high energy metal. Hope to see all of you there
pounding your heads to some of my songs this week. April 1, 2006 Welcome all newcomers to
SpitzWatch.com. As I prepare for the beginning of the European Anthrax
tour I just simply can not help but to get really excited deep down
inside about what will transpire upon my return a month or so from now
to the States. The first new real Anthrax music in over thirteen years
will begin to be made and then recorded/embedded into music history. The
five of us in a small room eating a lot of take out food once again.
