This a complete disassembly of an ETA 2894-2 tri-compax chronograph. This modular chronograph requires special fixtures to hold all the hammers and function springs for it to be taken apart or worked on. Don't even think about it
without the fixture. Like a can of worms jumping out of a can.
Normally the 2894 movement is overhauled and the module (if problematic) is simply replaced. This is because of the training necessary to work on these modules and the time needed to take them apart. There are many little tweaks that can be done to these tri-compax modules to make them run really well for the price range they are in. If you have one of these you'll want to send in to your brand of manufacture when it is time for service. The chronograph sweep hand once removed, must be replaced with a brand new one every time it is removed. The torque upon fly back will simply not hold the hand in its proper position at 12 o'clock once it is removed.
This complete movement is found in many luxury timepieces in many price ranges due to it being available in cosc and non cosc versions. It is even available in a complete skeleton version now with wonderful finishing.
